Adaptability to tailor our service to meet your requirements

Our Approach

Collaborative experience

We will begin by carefully listening, to fully understand the aspirations of our clients for their project. Our experienced team of designers will interpret these objectives against the constraints of the site to create realistic and viable proposals. This process will be carried out in close liaison with our clients, exploring potential design solutions. We endeavour to exceed expectations, ensuring we address all the fundamental considerations such as costs, buildability, practicality and sustainability.

TPA will always seek to add maximum value by design to your development. We find this approach is key to our clients’ satisfaction with our services and consequently, 90% of our projects come to us from repeat commissions or through recommendations.

Our History

TPA was originally founded in Maidenhead by Terry Platt in 1997

The practice was primarily focused on single private homes and small to medium residential developments, with a local reputation for planning success.

Peter Thomas joined as a director in 2004 and the practice diversified into larger residential projects and advanced technology facilities. TPA has continued to evolve its expertise in planning for residential schemes and other sectors including education, community and healthcare.

Following the retirement of Terry in 2020, TPA has re-established itself with the appointment of Natasha Gandhi and Ed Drysdale as directors. The practice is a strong and close team continuing to provide excellent levels of service, and is proactively updating its capabilities to deal with the ever-changing demands of the profession.

“We have worked with TPA for several years now, on various projects including Winnersh Film Studios and Wycombe Film Studios. We liaise with Ed and Natasha, who are extremely talented architects. They listen carefully and bring our ideas to life with clever design and creative solutions that are sympathetic to the environment of our studio locations.”

“TPA were great. Natasha and Gareth were really collaborative and understood exactly what we wanted. We also really appreciated their expertise at navigating all the planning requirements and they took care of the whole application process which took away a lot of the stress from the project for us. We love our new space and are so grateful for their help and support along the way.”

Sam and Kim

“TPA possesses a rare talent for navigating through the complexities of challenging planning constraints, particularly in difficult Green Belt and Conservation Areas, where high quality external design is essential to gain public and council support. Working with TPA is always a friendly, professional and creative experience, and their dedication has played an important role in the success of many of our developments.”

Westbourne Homes

“Working with TPA on the construction of our brand-new Science Labs at Thorpe House School has been an absolute pleasure. Natasha's professionalism, responsiveness, and proactive approach as lead architect throughout the project were truly commendable. Thorpe House School would highly recommend TPA to anyone seeking a dedicated and reliable partner for their architectural needs.”
